Driving Fore Prostate Charity Golf Classic Raises $128,296

Saskatoon (July 20th, 2016) – Urology patients in Saskatchewan will be receiving exceptional care thanks to participants of the Driving Fore Prostate Golf Classic 2016, which raised $128,296 in support of the Leslie and Irene Dubé Urology Centre of Health at St. Paul’s Hospital.

Special thanks to the celebrity players including Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Willie Desjardins, Bryan Trottier and Curtis Leschyshyn, who golfed in the Classic on July 19 at Dakota Dunes Golf Links as well as skated in the new Star-Powered Kids On Ice Camp event July 18 where Northern and Saskatoon children had the once in a lifetime on-ice opportunity to learn new hockey skills with celebrity coaches.

Thank you to presenting Sponsor Athabasca Basin Security, the many gracious participating sponsors, our patrons, volunteers and the dedicated Driving Fore Prostate Committee for making the 2016 Driving Fore Prostate Golf Classic such a great success.

The Leslie and Irene Dubé Urology Centre of Health provides valuable guidance to patients facing a diagnosis of prostate cancer, bladder cancer or other urological illnesses.  Funds raised will be used to purchase a new cystoscopy surgical Mini C-Arm X-Ray Scanner and Radiolucent Operating Theatre Table, which will significantly improve wait times for diagnosis, greatly improve patient comfort, and provide surgeons with greater access to the treatment site.

St. Paul’s Hospital is an independently owned, faith-based Hospital with a strong focus on compassionate and holistic health care.  Also an acute-care educational facility, St. Paul’s provides health practitioners with the training they need to become tomorrow’s leaders.
