with Special Guest Speaker Don Narcisse (former wide-reciever for the Saskatchewan Roughriders)
Thank You Saskatoon, 650CKOM and our community of donors
We were thrilled to welcome retired Saskatchewan Roughrider and prostate cancer survivor, Don Narcisse to join us at the Gormley Gathering. Earlier this year, Narcisse was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and although his journey has only begun, he opened up about his experience at the annual Gormley Gathering, presented by Orano.
The Gormley Gathering has been hosted by 650 CKOM radio personality John Gormley for the past eight years. This year’s event was held on September 24, raising an impressive $164,550 thanks to the generosity of donors.
Proceeds from the gathering this year will support the Leslie and Irene Dubé Urology Centre of Health at St. Paul’s Hospital, providing a physician fellowship in advanced urological training, as well as the annual Urology Symposium for patients, families and health care professionals.
Outside of ticket sales and donations, major gifts included $25,000 from presenting sponsor Orano; $33,000 from Glenn Wig; $25,000 from Gordon and Jill Rawlinson; $20,000 from Robert and Sandra Stromberg; $11,150 from Smiley’s Night for Life; $10,000 from Lyle and Arlene Zdunich, $5,000 from Athabasca Basin Security, $5,000 from Buckberger Baerg & Partners LLP, $5,000 from Ronan Conlon, and $5,000 from TD. We are deeply grateful.
The Leslie and Irene Dubé Urology Centre of Health at St. Paul’s Hospital provides patient education, important resources and state-of-the-art equipment for men and women suffering from a wide range of urological diseases, including bladder cancer and prostate cancer. The Centre also provides a nurse navigator to serve as a patient advocate and liaison.
